An article today on Yahoo.com from AP has a headline of "Tough immigration law backfiring?" From the facts listed in the article, i would say Hell NO...looks like it is doing just what it's suppose to. "They say" ( I put it that way because no sources for the numbers used are given) that over 185,000 hispanic people have left the state since the law was upheld. Reasons given for them leaving range from they are illegal and don't want to be arrested, to some of their family members are illegal. This is a bad thing??? Since when is 185,000 criminals or relatives of criminals packing up and leaving a state a bad thing? The AP writer really is nuts. "They" estimate that included in the 185,000 are as much as one-fourth of the commercial building work force. They say that's bad, sounds like some job openings in a state with an unemployment of 9.9%. The sounds like a good idea. Here's an idea, lets use Alabama as a test case. Let the law stand, come back and look at things like unemployment rate, crime rate, school funding, medical cost and other things affected by illegal immigration. Let's see what is happening in about three to five years.
One of the things they point to as a a "backfire" is a tomato farmer that doesn't have illegal aliens to pick his fruit for harvest. They want us to feel sorry for someone that has used illegal aliens knowingly. That person has saved how many thousands of dollars by not paying taxes and workers comp. on his workers for how many years??? Now they want us to feel sorry for them, WTF???? This is a person that should be fined for all the tax evasion and not paying workers comp., not pitied because now they have to hire someone here legally.
Now they have switched the stories to people signing over their kids, so someone will be able to take care of them if they are caught and deported. Still don't see the problem...here are a group of people who KNOW they are illegal and breaking the law. They are setting up people to watch the kids when they get deported. I say, go find them, they just filed legal documents for custody of their kids, shouldn't be too hard to find them, deport them. More illegals gone, what's the problem again?
This isn't a backfire, this is what is suppose to happen when a state passes this kind of law. Illegals are suppose to stop feeling all warm and cozy. They are suppose to get nervous. They are suppose to leave, that's the idea stupid. Figure it out, the American people have had enough of illegals taking jobs, filling schools, jails and welfare lines. We are sick and tired of PRESSING 1 FOR ENGLISH.
THE SMURPH.
